We stop by to feed, refresh water, let your pup out, and give plenty of cuddles — perfect for busy days and short trips. Have a cat at home too? We're happy to cover cat households on drop-in visits.

Hi, I'm Meighan — and This Is Wilson

My journey with dogs began with Sterling, my first pup — a wonderfully high-energy boy who couldn't sit still. I'll be honest: at the time, I simply couldn't keep up with his energy levels. Making the decision to rehome him at six months old broke my heart, but it taught me a lesson I've carried ever since — a dog's energy isn't a problem to manage, it's a need to meet.

When I brought Wilson home, I poured everything I'd learned into him, and I've thrived on it ever since: training him into the most well-rounded dog he can be and making sure his needs are met every single day. My thinking is simple — I wouldn't enjoy sitting inside, bored, day after day, so why should they live that life?

That belief is the heart of Wilson & Co. I genuinely love caring for dogs and looking out for their wellbeing, treating every pup like my own — dependable, active, loving service for your best friend, right here in the neighborhood.

The Fine Print

Our Policies

Clear policies keep every pup safe and every booking smooth. Tap any section to read the details. Booking a service means you agree to these terms.

Service Scope

Wilson & Co provides dog walking and drop-in visits within West Nipissing and the surrounding area. Drop-in visits may include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, brief play, and basic care as agreed in advance.

We do not offer overnight boarding, 24-hour care, training, grooming, or transport unless arranged separately in writing.

Travel & Mileage

A flat mileage fee of $10 CAD applies for clients located outside of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. The same flat fee also applies whenever a dog needs to be picked up by vehicle.

Any mileage charge will always be confirmed with you before your booking is accepted.

Client Eligibility

Service is available to dogs that are up to date on core vaccinations and in good general health. Puppies must be old enough to have begun their vaccination series.

We happily welcome dogs of all sizes and ages, provided they can be safely handled by one person.

Meet & Greet Policy

A free meet & greet is required before your first booking. This lets us meet your dog, review their routine, exchange keys or access details, and confirm care instructions.

Bookings cannot be confirmed until a meet & greet has taken place.

Booking Policy

Bookings are requested by phone, email, or the form on this site. Please book recurring walks as far in advance as possible. Bookings can be made up to two weeks (14 days) in advance, and same-day requests are accommodated when availability allows but cannot be guaranteed.

A booking request is not confirmed until we accept it. Submitting the form, sending a message, or leaving a voicemail does not guarantee a spot — your booking is only secured once we reply to confirm.

Payment Policy

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Payment is accepted by e-transfer or cash. Recurring clients are invoiced weekly; one-off bookings are due on or before the day of service.

Overdue balances will result in termination of services until settled.

Cancellation Policy

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged at 50% of the service rate; no-shows or missed visits may be charged in full.

We understand emergencies happen and consider them case by case.

Access Policy

Clients must provide a reliable means of access — a key, lockbox, garage code, or smart-lock code. All keys and codes are stored securely and labelled by code rather than address.

If we arrive and cannot access your home, the visit may be charged as a missed booking.

Safety Policy

Dogs are kept leashed in all public areas at all times unless a signed off-leash waiver is on file for a secured space. We use the collar, harness, and leash you provide and ask that they be in safe, working condition.

All customer-supplied equipment will be used as long as it is in good working order. If your equipment is unusable, we will supply our own core equipment so your dog can still be walked safely.

Your dog’s safety always comes before sticking rigidly to a planned route.

Behaviour Policy

Please disclose any history of aggression, biting, reactivity, or resource guarding before your first booking. We reserve the right to adjust, shorten, or decline service for dogs that pose a risk to themselves, other animals, or people.

Emergency Policy

In a medical emergency we will attempt to contact you immediately and, if we cannot reach you, take your dog to your listed veterinarian or the nearest available clinic. Clients are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred.

We ask that an emergency contact and your vet’s details be kept on file.

Health Policy

Dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations and reasonably protected against fleas, ticks, and worms. Please notify us of any illness, injury, medication, or contagious condition before a visit.

Service may be paused for the safety of your dog and others if a contagious illness is present.

Property Damage Policy

We treat every home with care and respect. While we are not liable for normal wear or for damage caused by your dog in our absence, we will always tell you promptly about anything that occurs during a visit.

Weather Policy

In extreme heat, cold, storms, or icy conditions, walks may be shortened and replaced with indoor potty breaks and play to keep your dog safe and comfortable. The agreed rate still applies, as the visit still takes place.

Lock-Up & Home Safety Policy

At the end of every visit we secure all doors, return keys to their agreed place, and leave your home as we found it. Please let us know about alarms, cameras, or any quirks of your locks ahead of time.

Privacy Policy

Your personal information, address, and access details are kept confidential and used only to provide our services. We never sell or share your information with third parties.

Photos & Updates Policy

Every visit includes a photo and/or text update. With your permission, we may share photos of your dog on our website or social media. Your name, address, and identifying details are never shared without consent, and you may opt out at any time.

Extra Fee Policy

Additional fees may apply for services on statutory holidays, last-minute bookings, additional dogs in the same household, extended visit times, or extra tasks requested beyond the agreed scope. Any added fees will always be confirmed with you in advance.

Termination Policy

Either you or Wilson & Co may end the service arrangement at any time. We ask for reasonable notice where possible so that alternative care can be arranged for your dog.

Record-Keeping Policy

We keep secure records of care instructions, vet and emergency contacts, vaccination status, and visit history to provide consistent, safe service. Records are retained only as long as needed and stored confidentially.

Right to Refuse

Wilson & Co reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for any reason, including unsafe conditions, undisclosed behaviour issues, non-payment, or anything that compromises the wellbeing of a pet or our team.
